Regardless of size, a notable difference is the absence of a cellular connectivity version for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Additionally, Samsung is not offering a smaller screen option this year, meaning the Galaxy Tab S11 remains the primary choice for the 11-inch category.

Samsung states that both tablets feature a larger vapor chamber for improved heat dissipation while retaining the IP68 water and dust resistance rating of previous models. They ship out of the box with One UI 9 based on Android 17, supported by seven years of operating system and security updates. The box also includes an S Pen, while keyboard covers and other accessories are available as optional purchases.

Samsung has also forged new partnerships for productivity apps. Adobe Photoshop comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12 series devices. The app includes tailored enhancements for the S Pen, and users receive a four-month free trial. Furthermore, Notability is pre-installed with a six-month trial period. Additional free trial perks are available for Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and others, alongside a six-month free trial of the Google AI Pro service to boost Gemini artificial intelligence capabilities.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at $1,199, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at $1,399, marking a $100 price increase compared to last year. Both devices become available in the United States starting October 7.
